Short-notice CQC readiness scorecard
If CQC called and said they were coming to inspect your clinic tomorrow, how confident would you feel?
This scorecard is a quick way to sense-check that.
I put it together for small clinics because I know how easy it is for governance to drift into the background while you’re busy with patients, staffing, admin, and everything else. Most clinic owners aren't sitting there thinking about policies all day. But the worry is still there in the background: if CQC called, would we be ready?
That’s what this is for.
It won’t tell you everything, and it’s not a formal assessment. But it should give you a quick feel for whether your clinic seems to have a solid base, whether things are a bit patchy, or whether there are some obvious weak spots worth looking at properly.
What it covers
The questions look at a few practical areas, including:
- whether your core policies are up to date and easy to find
- whether your paperwork matches what actually happens in clinic
- whether training and competency records are easy to show
- whether incidents, complaints, and audits are properly recorded
- whether your key governance material is organised enough to pull together without a scramble
Who it’s for
This is for small ultrasound and women’s health clinics that do not have a big governance team behind them and want a clearer sense of where they stand.
What you’ll get
At the end, you’ll get:
- a score
- a result category
- a short explanation of what that result usually means
If you want to go further after that, there’s also a next step into the CQC Readiness Reset.
